Location: NMCSD/Coronado, San Diego, CA

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 4:30pm
Shifts: 8.5 - 9 hours, including an uncompensated 30-60 minute lunch break
Hours: Maximum of 80 hours per two-week period

Pay Rate: Up to $42/hr + $4.41/hw

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Acupuncturist to join our multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will perform a full range of Acupuncturist duties in accordance with state licensure, guidelines established by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM), and the policies and procedures of our Medical Treatment Facility (MTF).

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Consultation: Confer with patients, take case histories, and determine overall mental, physical, and emotional health.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate patient records and obtain written concurrence for diagnostic and therapeutic plans from supervising privileged providers, including medical note co-signature.
• Team Collaboration: Participate in a multidisciplinary team with other healthcare providers to deliver optimal healthcare to patients suffering from pain.
• Drug Therapy: Collaborate with physicians to provide drug therapy recommendations, manage polypharmacy, and educate patients about changes in drug therapy.
• Tele-Medicine Participation: Engage in an on-site designated Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes (ECHO) tele-mentoring training program, as well as tele-mentoring, tele-medicine, and tele-consults.

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate from an Oriental Medicine degree program or higher, accredited by ACAOM.
• Certification: Current active certification of Diplomate of Acupuncture status from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
• Licensure: Active, valid, unrestricted license to practice Acupuncture in any one of the 50 States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
• Experience: At least two years of experience as a full-time Acupuncturist within the preceding five years.
