The Truck Driver will be responsible for safely driving to and from designated locations, verifying loads to shipping papers, and maintaining the electronic logging device (EID).

Essential Responsibilities

• Truck Driver will be responsible to drive a variety of trucks, including pick up, van, and stake trucks, to transport materials to and from specified customers and vendors.
• Knowledge of commercial driving regulations and southeast Michigan roads.
• Properly secure items/materials for transit.
• Maintain truck log according to State and Federal regulations.
• Maintain contact with supervisor to receive delivery/pick up instructions.
• Truck Driver will load and unload truck; operate hi-lo, cranes as needed.
• Prior to vehicle operation, daily inspect truck equipment and supplies, such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, etc.
• Maintain professional and friendly relationship with customers.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must have CDL with Air Brake certification.
• Must have minimum 1 year driving experience.
• Able to operate 24’ stake truck.
• Able to do long runs when required (day +).
• Capable to operate 350 pickups, with trailer.
• Capable to load, unload, and secure load properly and safely.
• Familiar with machine shop environment
• Capable to do Misc. maintenance/ shop duties when no trucking is available.
• Must have good driving record.
• Good communication skills a plus
