Cryogenic Industries is a subsidiary of Nikkiso, a public Japanese company with over $1.5B in annual revenue. We are seeking a Safety Manager to join our Santa Ana location.

**Position Summary:**

Reporting to the Site General Manager/President, the Safety Manager participates in and leads initiatives to provide for the safety and health of employees. The position ensures all employees are trained in EH&S components relating to their position. The Safety Manager ensures EH&S compliance with state and federal regulations for all employees, equipment, and operations.

**Essential Functions:**

Fosters, directly and indirectly, by action, example and training, a comprehensive safety program throughout the company, driving employee engagement.

Safety Manager monitors potential safety conditions of the workplace; identifies problems, recommends solutions, and ensures that the ongoing safety system is corrected to incorporate the changes.

Creates/Maintains records for safety programs (i.e. training logs, reports, inspections)

Inspects facilities to detect existing or potential unsafe conditions

Assists in filing appropriate compliance reports with regulatory agencies and ensures permits are tracked and monitored.

Develops and trains Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs) of essential work tasks and evaluates controls to prevent injuries and environmental spills.

Supports management in the implementation of EH&S plans and programs

Leads the Safety Committee and provides safety and environmental communications on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Assists with investigations involving near misses, injuries, property damage or equipment incidents

Develops multimedia visual aids and presentations

Assists with the development of strategic compliance and training related plans

Discusses emerging compliance issues with management or employees as appropriate

Advises management on the implementation or operation of compliance and training programs

Provides assistance to internal or external auditors in compliance reviews and ISO audits

Keeps informed regarding pending industry changes, trends, and best practices and assesses the potential impact of these changes on organizational processes

Other duties as assigned

**Knowledge and Critical Skills/Expertise:**

Familiarity with industry compliance, best practices and training standards

Ability to react and take action quickly in all compliance matters

Experience overseeing internal reporting systems to ensure regulatory compliance

Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Outlook

Comfortable working under tight deadlines, multi-tasking and prioritizing sensitive regulatory compliance concerns

**Work Environmental and Physical Demands:**

In order to perform the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. may be required.

Job will generally be performed in an office environment, but may require travel to a Client's office, production facility or industrial/construction job site. Conditions will vary at each location, but the conditions listed above will generally apply

Candidates will be required to show a driving abstract with a clean driving history for travel between the facility locations and client offices as required. A valid drivers license is necessary.

Employees are required to wear company provided PPE as/when needed. PPEs include safety shoes, safety glasses, face shields, FR clothing, cryogenic gloves, cryogenic apron, cut resistant gloves, safety gloves, hearing protection, hard hats & dust masks.

**Experience and Education:**

Bachelors degree in a relevant field is strongly preferred

3+ years industry related experience

4+ years experience in EH&S leadership role

Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be accepted
