Position Summary/ Department Summary: Emergency Department Music Therapist 4, 10.5 hour days or 5, 8.5 hour days. The shift will typically start around 10:00 a.m. Key Responsibilities: Provide music therapy to support the developmental, rehabilitative, psychological, socioemotional, and psychoeducational needs of BCH patients and families from various demographic and multicultural backgrounds. Working in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to assess, evaluate, and document the therapeutic needs of patients to address the medical, procedural, surgical, diagnostic, and prognostic experiences of patients and families. Providing basic guidance and instruction on student/intern performance and interactions with patients and families. Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy Experience: 1 year work experience in a medical setting and/or working with children. The ability to adhere to AMTA standards of practice, code of ethics and professional competencies. Demonstrated proficient knowledge in music therapy clinical practice, musical skills, child development and the impact of healthcare on neurodevelopmental outcomes.
