Job Description

Qualifications: 

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mathematics preferred or transferable experience
• A minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience middle/high school preferred

Additional Teacher Responsibilities:

• Teach all levels of middle school math, including Algebra 1.
• Serve as a middle school advisor to a group of students.
• A background in teaching mathematics and science.
• Believes all students can and should enjoy a hands-on college-preparatory mathematics and science curriculum that includes project-based instruction.
• Able to use a variety of teaching methods, including interactive, online textbooks, and differentiated instruction when needed.
• Communicate effectively, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Using the Student Information System, maintain an accurate and organized record of student grades and progress.
• Provide students with timely feedback and keep parents informed of student's academic and social/emotional progress via email and in-person.
• Participate in divisional and all school faculty and staff meetings, training, and PD.
• Able to create a positive classroom community and build relationships with students, faculty, staff, and families.
• Has excitement, joy, and passion for teaching middle schoolers.
• Willing to sponsor an after-school activity.
• Possess competency with basic use of technology devices (such as MacBooks, iPads, smart TV, etc.), as well as information and communication technologies (such as Microsoft Office 365, Google Workspace, video conferencing and VOIP platforms, student information systems, learning management systems, testing applications, etc.).
