The role of the Melt Shop Day Supervisor is primarily, but not limited to, the coordination and development of the melt shop production team in regard to safety, quality, continuous improvement, efficiency, and productivity. Melt Shop scheduling, cost control, negotiating with vendors and involvement in special projects will also be some of the day to day responsibilities of this position. The selected candidate may be asked to fill in as needed for Shift Supervisors. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Minimum Qualifications:

• Demonstrated commitment to safety coupled with the ability to create and cultivate a strong safety culture
• 18 months minimum melt shop experiencePreferred Qualifications:
• Four year technical degree or equivalent experience
• Leadership experience (Current Supervisor Level or Greater)
• Desire and ability to promote upward
