Tax Accountant Position

McGuireWoods LLP is seeking an experienced Tax Accountant to join our team in the Richmond, VA office. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with 5+ years of state and local tax experience across multiple jurisdictions, particularly with preparation of state income tax returns. The successful candidate will support the firm's compliance efforts while also contributing to special projects and research initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing federal income tax returns and partner K-1s.
• Preparation of state income tax returns and quarterly estimated state income tax payments.
• Preparation of various State and Local Tax Compliance.
• Prepare monthly bookkeeping and general ledger account reconciliations.
• Assist with other tax compliance and special projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, with professional tax experience.
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience with tax return preparation software for federal and state income tax returns.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer service mindset.
• Highly organized, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to work both independently and collaboratively under tight deadlines.
