Job Overview:

The Emergency Management Specialist provides support for administrative and operational oversight in maintaining an All-Hazards state of readiness within the TriHealth System. Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: the sustainment of the TriHealth Emergency Management program in accordance with regulatory entities (i.e., State, CMS, NIMS, FEMA, and Accreditation). Maintains plans, processes, and tools to address multiple levels of an emergency (mitigation, prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery). Assist with the Emergency Operations (Corporate, Site, and Departmental) plan review and revisions. Acts as a project manager to plan and deliver exercises to all sites by establishing cadence, content, and final documents for an effective training while also identifying gaps and improvements to existing plans or new plans. Develop, deliver, and/or coordinate Emergency Management education that will include NIMS, command center operations (response and recovery) and general topics. Assists the executive leadership team during an emergency/disaster in the implementation of response and alternative operational strategies, notification protocols, and other activities as needed. Assists in moving the incident from response to recovery. Represents emergency management on multi-disciplinary project teams (inside and outside of TriHealth). Provides expertise to assess financial and operational impacts. Investigate, research, and make recommendations regarding Emergency Management best practices. Identify system and operational problems and propose pro-active and functional solutions. Assist with Hazards Vulnerability and Risk Analysis. Assists with applications including but not limited to mass notification, incident command and situational awareness. Assists with the preparedness/operational deliverables to the local disaster coalition and management of the ASPR grant funds and disaster supplies for the system. Represents TriHealth Emergency Management with all community partners and stakeholders (i.e. Law Enforcement, Fire, EMS and Emergency Management). Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Must be able to interface, influence, and coordinate to work efficiently and effectively with colleagues in multiple locations at all levels across the system.

Our ideal applicant will have 5+ years' experience and be looking to take the next step in their Emergency Management career! Our anticipated annual salary range is between $75,000-$80,000 but is based on experience and therefore can vary. 

Job Requirements:

This position requires On Call, Holiday, and Weekend commitments  

Bachelor's Degree in Other Technology (Required)
1 - 2 years experience Technical Other Technology Emergency Management (Required)
Computer 
Analytical skills to comprehend and interpret complex regulations

Job Responsibilities:

Assists in the preparation of emergency management committee meeting agendas, the organization and presentation of supporting documents, and related information for emergency management projects at all sites. Ensures that all emergency management committees are following a system approach to emergency management. Builds effective working relationships with all departments for emergency management planning, preparedness, response, and recovery. Assists with reviews and revision of all Corporate, Site and Departmental Emergency Operation Plan/Disaster Binders located at each facility. Assists with the Hazard Vulnerability Analysis for each surveyable site. 
Helps develop and run emergency management exercises to comply with the accreditation/federal regulations. Exercises must meet HSEEP guidelines and documentation to meet regulations. Helps develop the Emergency Management education program. Assists in the coordination and facilitation of Hospital Incident Command Systems (HICS) training for identified hospital leaders, clinical administrators, nursing supervisors and command staff. 
Works with the Accreditation team to ensure the emergency management chapter is ready for regulatory inspections for all sites. Keeps informed of federal, state, and local regulations affecting emergency management (all phases). May participate in local, state, and/or federal committee membership. May assist at a county/regional/state emergency operations center. 
Utilizes in-depth knowledge of natural, technological, and man-made disasters, public health aspects of bioterrorism, environmental health emergencies, and mass casualty incidents to help manage through all phases of emergency management. 
Responds to notifications and alerts, related to drills, exercises and incidents. Reports to affected Hospital or Business Entity and assists in the establishment of the Hospital Command Center (HCC) or on-site response effort as applicable. Fills the Liaison Officer role within the HCC, or another HCC leadership role as assigned by the Incident Commander. As needed, prepares emergency status reports, and maintain situational awareness.
