The Deputy Director of the Clinical Operations Division, under the general direction of the Statewide Medical Director, provides leadership to and is responsible for all aspects of oversight, management and supervision of the Clinical Operations Division. The Deputy Director is responsible for clinical policy development and decision making to guide the delivery of clinical care in the five state hospitals, and the development and implementation of standards and procedures for the statewide clinical program, monitoring quality of clinical care, quality improvement, reduction and prevention of clinical risks and dangerous incidents, and compliance with federal and state laws and regulations. The Deputy Director oversees an Assistant Deputy Director who is responsible for the policy direction and decision-making regarding hospital-based clinical technology implementation and the Associate Medical Director who is responsible for establishing Medical and Psychiatric related policies and providing guidance and policy direction to the Medical Directors at the five state hospitals. The Deputy Director oversees a multidisciplinary team devoted to continuous quality improvement and program implementation within the hospitals, the Clinical Operations Advisory Council (COAC). The Deputy Director also oversees an interdisciplinary team of clinicians responsible for the implementation and provision of Trauma Informed Care (TIC) throughout the system. The Deputy Director oversees a team responsible for Discharge and Community Integration (DIC) which establishes policy direction for the safe discharge of individuals from the state hospitals in a manner that facilitates continuity of care. The Deputy Director oversees a team of AGPAs that provides contract and administrative support to the Division. The Deputy Director is responsible for maintaining the safety of persons and property in the State Hospitals. In addition, the Deputy Director will respond to emergency situations as trained in Therapeutic Strategies and Interventions when at the state hospitals. Travel is required.
