Job Description

This position offers an opportunity to support elementary students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH) in an educational setting. The role is part-time and based onsite in Elkin, NC. The contract runs through the current school year, with potential for virtual duties depending on future arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the needs of DHH elementary students.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with student goals.
• Utilize assistive technology and communication strategies to enhance student engagement.
• Track student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.

Desired Qualifications:

• Certification or relevant training in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education.
• Experience working with elementary-aged students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
• Strong communication skills, including ability to use American Sign Language (ASL) or other relevant methods.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Flexibility to operate onsite currently with possible transition to virtual duties as directed.
