General description

The Weaver is responsible for running weaving machines to produce quality products, while maintaining high efficiency, product output and a safe working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate up to 24 weaving machines;
• Creel, inspect fabric, clean machines, blow down, keep up with yarn for style changes;
• Recognize defects in the cloth produced as the machine is patrolled by using cycle weaving;
• Keep assigned weaving machines and surrounding area of the machine clean;
• Work together with previous and next shift's personnel;
• Produce first quality fabric while maintaining high efficiency;
• Perform the job safely in accordance with the JHA;
• Perform general housekeeping duties;
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills required

• Technical knowledge regarding running weaving machines
• Ability to lift up to 20-25lbs.
• Ability to walk and stand for 12 hours daily as it is a multiple machine assignment and requires stepping up and down on the weaving platform
• Ability to work in a hot and cold environment
• Excellent eyesight and ability to distinguish patterns, colors, and shades
• Ability to perform detailed tasks with minimal errors
• Ability to work with minimum supervision
• Self-starter mentality and strong work ethic
• Team player
• Communication skills
• Basic English speaking, writing and reading skills
• Basic arithmetic and computer skills

Experience

• Minimum of two years of previous experience operating weaving machines preferred
