Job Title: Video Specialist / Motion Designer

Location: Manhattan, NY

Duration: 6 months Contract (Potential to Extend or Convert)

Key Requirement:

• Must include portfolio links on the resume.

Role Overview:

• Seeking a Video Specialist / Motion Designer (Hybrid role).
• Heavy focus on motion design and animation – this will be the core skill .
• Responsible for editing videos, stories, B-rolls , and creating text animations and social media content .
• Should be able to animate in After Effects and edit in Premiere Pro .
• DaVinci Resolve knowledge is a plus.

Team Structure:

• Small creative team of 3 members :
• Hiring Manager (Animation/Creative Director)
• 1 Producer
• 1 Motion Designer
• Supported by a couple of freelancers depending on project load.

Experience & Background:

• Minimum 4+ years of relevant experience – no candidates under this level.
• Background in advertising agencies , production environments , or personal production/student film experience acceptable.
• Finance background not required. Open to candidates from any industry , provided they have a diverse creative portfolio .
• Must be comfortable editing interviews and story-based videos .

Tools & Technical Skills:

• Required: After Effects, Premiere Pro
• Preferred: DaVinci Resolve
• Projects managed through Workfront ticketing system

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Work on animated projects , including logo animation , short-form videos (30–60 sec, 1:1, 9:16 formats) , and social-forward edits .
• Handle 2–4 active projects per day , including special projects from the CEO and executive leadership .
• Create content for both external (social media, LinkedIn) and internal (newsletters, intranet, website, events) use — roughly 50/50 split .

Work Arrangement:

• Potential to convert for the right candidate or if the headcount becomes available.

Interview & Evaluation Notes:

• Laidback interview style – focus on showcasing portfolio work and discussing creative approach .
• Candidates should highlight projects they’re proud of and demonstrate storytelling through motion .
