TX Residential Examiner Independent Contractor - Westcor Land Title Insurance Company Job Category : Title Plant Requisition Number : TXRES001946 Apply now Posted : October 10, 2025 Full-Time Remote Locations Showing 1 location Spring, TX 77380, USA Description Description Westcor Land Title Insurance Company is seeking proposals from independent contractors to provide Title Examination services in the state of Texas. When submitting proposals please provide detailed fee structure for the services. Services Summary The services sought by Westcor consist of title examin ation , including producing accurate and professional title commitments, assessing risk and liabilities in accordance with policy provisions, and providing other title related services , including working with customers on revision, curative and update requests. Perform title searches, verifying, reviewing and compiling information including but not limited to, geographic information, property surveys and legal description, title orders, customer information, ownership histories, physical address, etc. which involves the return of a set of documents reflecting the history of a property. Examine title orders within company underwriting guidelines to determine the conditions of the title and insurability by considering the effect of documents such as deeds, deeds of trust, mechanics liens, tax liens, judgments, assessments, divorces, probates and other matters of record. Research respective title plant software, analyze and evaluate pertinent documents for determination of ownership, appraisal roles, maps, legal descriptions, and any conjunction to title. Prepare an accurate and compressive title commitment in accordance with company’s examining and policy procedures. Provide title examination review of products and services performed by title production partners. Explain chain of title, exceptions, and requirements to customers. Recognize title defects and formulate curative solutions. Review surveys prepared on properties when applicable. Maintain proper production levels and delivery standards on each file order . Answer all emails and phone calls from customers in a timely manner. Perform other activities in support of the services discussed above . Education, Formal Training, and Experience Minimum of 5 years of previous title examination experience. Knowledge of Texas title examination laws and regulations. Knowledge of Texas Title Plant Solutions available. Strong English language and communication skills. High school diploma; college experience is a plus.
