Job Description

A K-12 educational institution in Aurora, CO, is seeking a qualified professional to provide specialized instruction for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. This contract position spans the current school year (CSY) and offers the opportunity to support diverse learners in an engaging academic environment.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across grades K-12.
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with student needs and curriculum standards.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to optimize student learning outcomes.
• Utilize specialized teaching methods, technology, and communication strategies including sign language, auditory training, and speech therapy support.
• Monitor student progress, maintaining accurate records and reporting to administration and parents.
• Promote an inclusive and supportive classroom atmosphere that respects the unique experiences of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.

Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification with endorsement or specialization in Deaf / Hard of Hearing education.
• Experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in K-12 settings.
• Proficiency in relevant communication methods such as American Sign Language (ASL).
• Strong understanding of IEP processes and special education regulations.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.
