Description and Requirements General Description: Responsible for handling marine, auto, property, and general liability claims.
Responsibilities: - Inspect losses for adjustment parameters.
- Review claims and meet with clients.
- Attend depositions, mediations, and trials as needed.
- Retain and monitor activity of outside adjusters/appraisers and other experts.
- Communicate with management and underwriting team on larger, more complex claims.
- Investigate, evaluate, and negotiate resolution of complex claims. Work in accordance with company guidelines and best claims practices.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - 5+ years of general liability insurance claim experience, specialty claims insurance adjustor experience, or a combination of both.
- High school diploma or graduate equivalent degree required. College degree preferred.
- Requires claims adjusting license in all operating states.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of working with specialty and general liability claims.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Ability to analyze complex problems involving varying viewpoints and to develop viable solutions.
- Strong project management skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Effective organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.
- Ability to handle larger and more complex claims.
