Project Manager General
Location: Columbus, OH
Job type: Contract to Hire


Our global EPC Firm client is hiring a Project Manager General for a long-term contract opportunity for their Columbus, OH location.

• Responsible for overall project execution after project budget and schedule approved through project completion

• Manage 10-30 projects concurrently of varying sizes ($100k - $10M), disciplines (substation, transmission line, network) and voltages (34.5kV to 500kV)

• Monitor and manage project scope

• Work with project controls to maintain project schedule and cost forecast

• Conduct construction bid events and evaluation for construction contractor selection

• Monitor environmental and permitting progress in coordination with environmental staff

• Coordinate construction resources and testing resources for project execution

• Interface and work with client's project management leadership team to provide regular, timely updates

• Collaborate with project team to successfully mitigate issues and achieve seamless execution

Requirements:

• Must have a 4 year Bachelor Degree in engineering from accredited program and min 7 years applicable/relevant experience.

• Do Not submit manufacturing type of Engineering degree.

• Must have experience with managing 10-30 projects concurrently of varying sizes ($100k - $10M), disciplines (substation, transmission line, network) and voltages (34.5kV to 500kV).

• Required Prior experience on construction project sites or executing program management in the industries of aviation, commercial, energy, government, manufacturing, oil & gas, process, transmission & distribution, or water.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.

• bility to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding work environment, ability to work overtime on short notice.

• Excellent computer skills and proficiency using Microsoft Office

• bility to work collaboratively with others (owners, contractors, engineers, designers) in a multi-disciplined project team environment to resolve design or drawing issues as appropriate and to accomplish objectives.

• Strong experience with document control, scheduling, cost control and project management software.
