Responsible for a diverse range of procurement and vendor-related responsibilities, including purchase order placement, inventory adjustments, quality enhancements, service level oversight, procurement process management, optimization of vendor partnerships, conducting research, and assisting in the preparation of operational metrics and analyses in support of the business.
Essential Job Duties - Assist with research and analysis in the following areas: purchase analytics, current purchase mix, conduct supply market review, and support sourcing strategy development.
- Support the end-to-end process related to sourcing (economic evaluation, contract execution, system data flow, vendor invoicing compliance).
- Conduct quote and bid analysis.
- Ensure timely receipt of material by the due date.
- Assist in the resolution of overages and shortages at receipt and billing issues, as needed.
- Develop and maintain effective communication channels with various cross-functional teams.
- Partner with cross-functional departments to manage material movement to optimize stocking strategies.
- Monitor and follow up on vendor back-orders, shipments, and tracking of source products.
- Communicate with suppliers to assist in the efficiency of procurement operations.
- Assume other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities - Lead the work of others who perform essentially the same work. May set priorities, schedule, and review work, but have no responsibility to hire, terminate, review performance, and/or make pay decisions.
Education & Experience - Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of related experience required; Still acquiring higher-level knowledge and skills; Degree or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or other related field.
- Proficiency with the ADS replenishment system.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs.
- Frequent use of Outlook, Word, Excel, graphics, etc. Ability to create, maintain, and incorporate functions into Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, databases, and PowerPoint presentations to support business objectives.
- Regularly uses moderately complex oral and written skills. May train others in functional areas, interact with others, and make presentations to the department or middle management.
- Problems encountered are routine, somewhat repetitive, and generally solved by following clear directions and procedures.
- Decisions generally affect one's job or assigned functional area.
- Results are defined; sets personal own goals and determines how to achieve results with few or no guidelines to follow; supervisor/manager provides broad guidance and overall direction.
- Handle multiple tasks or projects simultaneously with moderate complexity.
Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment - Work is primarily sedentary: must be able to sit for extended periods and use a computer, keyboard, and mouse, frequently.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Travel may be required periodically, including overnight stays (contingent on position requirements).
