Overview

We are seeking an experienced Machining Expert to oversee a key project aimed at improving the performance of a machining line. This project involves optimizing OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), reducing downtime, improving cycle time, and addressing a high workload situation with two PNS operating on the same machining line.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in complex machining processes, with a strong focus on performance metrics, resource management, and cross-team communication. Your role will be pivotal in achieving optimal production output and performance KPIs.

Responsibilities

• Machining Process Optimization: Lead efforts to improve OEE, reduce downtime, and optimize cycle time for machining operations (Chiron MT 831 Twin, Stama System 8 MT milling-turning center).
• Project Management: Manage overall project timeline, reporting, and communication with both internal teams and external suppliers. Prioritize tasks, ensure milestones are met, and keep key stakeholders informed.
• Data-Driven Approach: Develop and implement strategies to recover backlog and enhance production output. Drive KPI improvements such as downtime reduction, cycle time efficiency, and overall production performance.
• Team Coordination: Collaborate closely with the team to ensure smooth operation, especially with limited part-time resources on the machining team.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify process inefficiencies and work with internal teams and suppliers to develop solutions that drive long-term process improvements.

Requirements

• Experience: At least 5 years of experience in the machining industry, specifically with complex processes and high-performance equipment (e.g., Chiron, Stama, CNC machines).
• Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of machining processes, OEE, downtime analysis, and cycle time improvements.
• Hands-on experience with machining centers like Chiron MT 831 Twin or Stama System 8 MT is highly preferred.
• Project Management Skills: Proven track record of successfully managing projects in high-pressure environments. Experience with PMO activities, reporting, prioritization, and communication with both suppliers and internal teams.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze and address complex issues, drive root cause analysis, and develop actionable solutions in real-time.
• Leadership: Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and manage resources effectively.
• Language Skills: Proficiency in English is required. Spanish fluency is a plus.
• Additional Information:
• Work Hours: Standard working hours, Monday to Friday.
• Part-Time Machining Support - 20 hours per week.
