Overhead Crane Operator / Material Handler – $20–$24/hr
This is a contract position with an opportunity to work full time. Location: Baytown, TX
Schedule: Monday to Friday, Day Shift
Integrity Trade Services is hiring an Overhead Crane Operator / Material Handler for our partner, a leading structural steel service center. The Material Handler is responsible for staging, loading, and unloading material in a safe, accurate, and efficient manner. This position represents the company with a positive, safety-first attitude and ensures operational excellence within the warehouse.
Job Duties / Responsibilities:Operate overhead cranes safely and efficiently without overloading equipment.
Inspect overhead cranes and saws; complete inspection reports as required.
Read and interpret order paperwork to ensure materials are processed correctly.
Accurately measure materials using a tape measure and micrometer.
Record heat numbers, locations, and any changes to original orders on paperwork.
Use welding machines and saws to cut materials as needed.
Operate banding equipment to secure products for delivery or storage.
Apply correct color codes to mark material appropriately.
Maintain knowledge of warehouse inventory and ensure materials are restocked correctly.
Maintain clean walking paths and organize stacks securely to avoid safety hazards.
Stay alert to workplace safety and ensure the safety of coworkers.
Perform additional duties as needed.
High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
1–2 years of experience operating overhead cranes preferred.
Forklift certification required if operating a lift.
Crane certification required per OSHA standards.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English.
Proficient in basic math (fractions, decimals, rates, percentages).
Ability to present information clearly in small groups or one-on-one settings.
