The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Short-Term Casual (non-student) to join our team in a part-time position to work within the division of Molecular Genetics. The candidate will join our team to work on the molecular mechanisms underlying human obesity.   

Responsibilities

• Assist to conduct mechanistic studies in vivo (staining and imaging of brain sections).Studying the impact of novel obesity genes.
• Assist in Confocal microscopy and image analysis
• Performs related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Graduate or Equivalency required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two years of college or a completed A.A. program with an emphasis in biology, molecular mechanisms of human obesity. One year of related experience, or the equivalent in education, training and experience.

Other Requirements

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized with great attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
