Summary:

As a Process Engineer, you will provide technical support to the Business Unit in order to optimize process performance and to actively participate in Continuous Improvement projects to improve HSE, Quality, Cost and Productivity.

Essential functions of role:

  • Identify and implement appropriate safe working practices & methods.
  • Champion and actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives (eg. Kaizen, TPM, OEE, SMED, Root Cause Analysis, Value Stream Mapping, 5 Whys, etc).
  • Identify and drive VAVE and waste reduction initiatives.
  • Responsible for optimizing the manufacturing process flows.
  • Technical support of Processes and product for the Value Stream.
  • To specify equipment and tooling to enable quality product to be efficiently achieved / improved.
  • To identify and recommend purchase of capital equipment.
  • Provide shop floor layouts and implementation programs for major factory movements.
  • Collaborate closely with appropriate internal & external customers / suppliers.
  • Generate (consistent) pricing for labor and materials.
  • Ensure accurate and detailed documentation is available for manufacture of products.
  • Generate FMEA analysis as required.
  • Drive the best health & safety practice.
  • Ensure protocols are adhered to.
  • Ensure accurate loading of Routings into Navision to reflect current performance in agreement with Production Leaders.

Position qualifications/Education:

  • A degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other similar engineering subject area, or equivalent demonstratable experience.
  • Experience of working in a medium to low volume Manufacturing environment.
  • Successful implementation of lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Sound technical knowledge, with formal documented Engineering training.
  • Relevant IT skills utilized in a manufacturing environment including Navision & Microsoft Office.
  • Aware of all relevant HSE legislation and regulations.
  • Basic method and time study awareness.
