Cookie's Cakes & Shakes in Chesapeake, VA is looking for one manager or asst. mgr. to join our team. We are a premier dessert shop opening a new location at 4300 Portsmouth Blvd. #236 in the Western Branch section of Chesapeake. Our ideal candidate is attentive, motivated, and engaged. Responsibilities

• Ensuring that the shop is adequately stocked with quality ingredients and supplies.
• Ensuring that all tools, utensils, and equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized.
• Developing and implementing advertising and marketing strategies to attract new customers.
• Creating suitable work schedules for staff members.
• Appraising staff performance and carrying out the necessary disciplinary measures to address poor performance.
• Training staff to produce high-quality products while following proper food handling procedures.
• Strategically arranging bakery items in display cases to encourage customer purchases.
• Inspecting products to ensure that established standards on quality, uniformity, and aesthetic appeal are met.
• Resolving customer complaints in a professional manner

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Associate's degree in culinary arts or baking and pastry arts is not required but is advantageous.
• Proven experience managing a dessert shop is a plus.
• A food handler's license (can be obtained after hired.)
• Sound knowledge of various dessert making techniques.
• The ability to work under pressure.
• Outstanding problem-solving skills.
• Excellent management skills.
• Effective communication skills.
• Exceptional customer service skills.

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation is $18.00 - $20.00/hour.
