Job Title: Maintenance/Custodian

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Maintenance/Custodian to perform a variety of janitorial and light maintenance duties to ensure the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of our facility. This role is essential in creating a clean and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

Custodial Duties:

• Clean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, offices, hallways, and other areas of the building.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors.
• Empty trash and recycling bins and replace liners.
• Clean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors.
• Restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.

Maintenance Duties:

• Perform routine building maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, unclogging drains, and minor repairs.
• Inspect and report the need for major repairs or replacements.
• Assist with setting up furniture and equipment for events or activities.
  
• Monitor and report safety or security issues such as fire hazards, leaks, or equipment malfunctions.

General:

• Secure all doors and windows at the end of shifts.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
• Respond to emergency cleaning or repair situations promptly.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and other staff members.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Proven experience in janitorial or maintenance work.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment.
• Ability to perform physical labor and operate cleaning or maintenance equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

Working Conditions:

• May require evening or early morning shifts.
• Exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and noise.
• Occasional lifting of heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing.
