SALARY EXPECTATION: $21.98 / hour The Jersey City Free Public Library is looking for a part-time Library Assistant to help staff and patrons at the Heights Branch. Job Duties: Shelves used materials, performs shelf reading duties. Assists patrons with finding materials. Assists in answering in-person, phone and electronic patron queries. Operates standard office machines, such as copiers or calculators. Informs individuals of library services. Essential Skills: Ability to learn to use the Dewy Decimal System. Ability to compare written and printed material for accuracy. Ability to read with comprehension. Ability to follow oral and written orders, directions, or plans. Knowledge of general vocabulary, spelling and of standard English grammar. Knowledge of filing systems.
