Job Description

Are you looking for an opportunity to enhance your GIS skills in an innovative and supportive environment Do you want to learn how to build and manage a GIS project from inception to deployment while gaining valuable experience using Esris ArcGIS ecosystem

As an intern working within our team youll work to create custom GIS applications that solve real-world problems. You will have the opportunity to grow your skills in cartography project management app development and programming all within an enterprise environment. This is a seasonal summer position that may include the opportunity to work into the fall school term if schedules allow.

The position is subject to a background/drivers license check. This is an in-person position . We are looking to hire up to three interns this year.

Compensation: Please note: The 2026 salary range is anticipated to increase pending budget approval in mid-December.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Create web maps and mapping applications
  • Create and manage Enterprise GIS datasets
  • Assist with building and maintaining GIS asset management systems
  • Work within the GIS team on a variety of GIS tasks such as mapping requests
  • Assist with field data collection using high accuracy GPS
  • Ability to manage and prioritize time across various projects

Qualifications

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • A commitment to and belief in the organizations shared values
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university/technical Geography GIS or closely-related field
  • Six months experience working with ArcGIS and related software
  • Valid drivers license

Desirable Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year completed in an accredited college/university/technical Geography GIS or closely-related field
  • A grasp of the fundamentals of GIS
  • Excellent technical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Customer service experience
