Job Description

At Wizards of the Coast, we connect people around the world through play and imagination. From our genre-defining games like Magic: The Gathering® and Dungeons & Dragons® to our growing multiverse, we continue to innovate and build new ways to foster friendship and connection. That’s where you come in!

Are you an experienced tabletop RPG designer with the demonstrated ability to craft balanced, unique play experiences and design compelling rules content?

We are seeking a Game Designer to work with our design team to create Dungeons & Dragons products. In this role, you’ll help build the future of D&D by developing material for upcoming products. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, can design and write innovative and high-quality RPG material, and hit deadlines, this role is for you. We’re looking for passion and professionalism in equal measure.

What You'll Do:

  • Conceptualize and design substantial portions of D&D products, including game mechanics, with guidance from project leads.
  • Analyze and incorporate player feedback to create best-in-class RPG content.
  • Help review material for game balance, clarity, consistency—and player enjoyment.
  • Assist in preparing products for publication.
  • Work with project leads and art directors to write art orders.
  • Represent D&D in the larger RPG community through interviews, appearances, articles, etc.

What You'll Bring:

  • 3+ years experience designing RPG products.
  • Expertise in rules design paired with strong analytical skills and long-form writing ability.
  • Proven track record of developing innovative and balanced game mechanics for published RPG products.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong familiarity with Dungeons & Dragons and proficiency in the fifth edition rules.
  • An eye for detail and a dedication to crafting outstanding gaming experiences for players worldwide.
  • Excitement for the future of Dungeons & Dragons.
