We are seeking an experienced Fractional Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with a strong background in the construction industry to provide parttime strategic financial leadership. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in job costing, cash flow management, project profitability, and financial forecasting to help guide our company's growth and improve financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with company goals and growth plans.
  • Provide financial analysis and guidance on all activities, including bidding, contracting, and project management.
  • Advise ownership and executive team on risk management, capital allocation, and longterm planning.

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Oversee cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and financial modeling for multiple projects.
  • Evaluate project profitability, cost structure, and return on investment.
  • Prepare and present monthly and quarterly financial performance reports.

Operational Finance Oversight

  • Improve internal controls, accounting systems, and reporting processes.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate job costing and timely billing.
  • Oversee WIP reporting, change order tracking, and revenue recognition in compliance with GAAP.

Banking, Insurance, & Compliance

  • Manage relationships with banks, bonding companies, and insurance providers.
  • Support bonding capacity reviews and compliance with loan covenants.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax and regulatory requirements.

Leadership & Mentoring

  • Mentor and support accounting and finance staff.
  • Collaborate with leadership on financial training, process improvement, and systems integration (e.g., Quickbooks, Procore, Kojo).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
  • Minimum 10+ years of financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years in the construction industry.
  • Proven experience with job costing, WIP schedules, percentageofcompletion accounting, and projectbased financial reporting.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, including AIA billing, retainage, and subcontractor management.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Experience with constructionspecific software systems is highly desirable.
