Job Description

The Food Production Operator supports food manufacturing and trial operations by independently setting up, sanitizing, and operating processing equipment, with a primary focus on cereal production. This role provides technical and customer-focused support across multiple innovation and technology platforms in a flexible, fast-paced plant or pilot environment. The position operates primarily on a first-shift schedule (6:00 AM 2:00 PM) with flexibility for overtime, shift changes, and occasional weekend support based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate and troubleshoot processing equipment in compliance with Food Safety , Human Safety , and GMP standards
• Perform and lead equipment sanitation , inspection, and complex system setup
• Conduct risk assessments and resolve safety, technical, and mechanical issues
• Support trials and daily operations across multiple unit operations; train and coach team members
• Apply maintenance, electrical, and controls knowledge to improve system efficiency
• Use computer systems and diagnostic tools to document and support operations
• Lift, transport, and handle ingredients/equipment up to 55 lbs and work around high-speed machinery

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Demonstrated experience in team-based manufacturing or processing environments
• Strong skills in equipment operation , sanitation , food safety , problem-solving , and continuous improvement
• Proficiency with Office Suite and basic production technology
• Ability to work autonomously, communicate effectively, and adapt to changing priorities
• Preferred: 1+ year experience in food production , pilot plant , or laboratory settings; passion for CPG and food innovation
