Job Description

The Onion Tree located on the North Shore of Long Island is hiring Full and Part Time Bartenders to join our busy restaurant.

Led by Chef Jay Jadeja and his wife, Raquel Jadeja, The Onion Tree is a food-forward restaurant serving both Traditional (as well as Regional) Modern Indian cuisine. We are also known for our traditional Pizza Napoletano and (not so traditional), pizzas including Chicken Tikka Masala Pizza, Palak Paneer Pizza, and Short Rib on Pizza - to name a few.

We do substantial volume in spite of limited capacity and need professional individuals to help us grow bigger and better. Besides being known for our incredible food, we are known for our hospitality and warm team atmosphere. Our team is comprised of energetic individuals who are passionate about hospitality and food. It is a very positive work environment and everyone enjoys being a part of The Onion Tree! We recently opened our second location in the heart of the East Village in NYC. We are expanding and would love for you to grow with us. The right candidate is:

-A Foodie

-Has at least 3-5 years of bartending experience

-Lives within 20-30 minutes driving of Sea Cliff (11579) and has own transportation.

-Is available evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant patrons
• Interact with guests, take orders and serve food and drinks
• Assess guests' needs and preferences and make recommendations
• Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails
• Check identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age
• Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
• Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
• Comply with all food and beverage regulations

Requirements and skills

• Resume and proven working experience as a Bartender
• Excellent knowledge of in mixing, garnishing and serving drinks
• Computer literacy
• Knowledge of a second language is a plus
• Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
• Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked and clean
• Relevant training certificate
