Audubon County Memorial Hospital and Clinics (ACMH) is actively recruiting a Family Medicine Physician to join our team in Audubon, Iowa. ACMH is a 17-bed nonprofit Critical Access Hospital offering comprehensive services in primary care, inpatient, outpatient observation, skilled care, specialty care, and two rural health clinics.
FINANCIAL PACKAGE
Hospital-employed, contract will be between the Physician and Audubon County Memorial Hospital
- Compensation – Competitive salary based on current year MGMA salary survey for Family Medicine. Position is a salaried full-time position with no RVU component.
- Student loan repayment of $25,000 per year up to five years. Hospital and Clinics designated as healthcare shortage area. Eligible for additional physician student loan repayment from several grant programs including state and federal after one year.
- Residency stipend available including payment to assist with board exam expenses.
- Annual bonus opportunity of $20,000 based on productivity and quality measures.
- Signing bonus
- Option to live in Audubon County or commute from a larger community.
- Housing Allowance - $25,000 if home purchased in Audubon County within one year of beginning employment.
- One-time moving relocation expenses up to $10,000 upon submitted receipts
- CME allowance up to $3000 annually
- PTO (includes holidays): 27 days per year

- 17 bed Critical Access Hospital, Level IV ED
- Average daily inpatient census – 4-5
- Medical/Surgical department – Inpatient, Outpatient Observation, Skilled, Pre and Post-Op Surgical, Hospice Respite.
- 2 Operating Rooms – 1 large room for major cases and one smaller room for Minor/Endoscopy cases
- Surgical services available in General Surgery, Orthopedics, Podiatry, Urology, Gynecology, and ENT
- Cardiac Rehab Program
- Full time PharmD on staff
- 24 hour Full service lab and X-Ray departments
- CT, PET, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear, and Echocardiogram services available
- Rehab Therapy (PT, OT, Speech), Pain Clinic
- On site Fitness Center
- ED recently renovated to include two separate bays and one large trauma room (all negative pressure).
- Helipad onsite
- Public Health on site
- Two primary care Rural Health Clinics: Audubon Family Healthcare Clinic and Exira Medical Clinic
- 6 rooms / 1 Pediatric room
- Midlevel present 50.5% of time to retain “rural health clinic status
- Specialty Clinic providers include Orthopedics (Spine, General, Sports, Hand), Mental Health, Pain Clinic, Podiatry, General Surgery, Oncology, Cardiology, Urology, ENT/Head/Neck, Gynecology/Women’s Health
- Telemedicine services available including Endocrinology, Pulmonology, Neurology, and Nephrology.
- Established team of 6 ARNP’s and three physicians
The Need:
- Inpatient and Outpatient (Total of 18-20 patients per day)
- Avel eHospitalist utilized via telemedicine
- Advanced Practice Providers cover ED 24/7. Backup call for ER provided by eAvel Emergency Telemedicine. On-call Hospitalist services for inpatients provided by eAvel Hospitalist Telemedicine. Family physicians take limited calls from Hospitalist if needed to consult on patient or to advise on pediatric patients. Otherwise, family physicians are not on call after hours, weekends, or holidays.
- AM hospital rounding
- 10-hour shifts, 4-day work week (Clinic hours 7-5, M-Thurs and 7-4:30 on Friday). Another option is 12 hour shifts, 3-day work week.
- One day a week provider will see walk-ins starting at 7am in the clinic.
- Opportunity to take extra ED shifts if desired for additional income.
- Dedicated nurse or MA for each physician
- No Critical Care or OB services at hospital
