Coney Island Amphitheater is looking for a guard to patrol and/or monitor the venue premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules. May operate metal detector equipment. Responsibilities include circulating among guests and employees to preserve safety and order, monitoring and authorizing entrance and departure to guard against theft and maintain security, writing reports of daily activities and irregularities, patrolling premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion, escorting or driving motor vehicles to transport individuals or provide personal protection, operating detecting devices to screen individuals, participating in the venue’s sustainability program, partnering with fellow band members to close the venue after shows, warning persons of rule infractions or violations, and apprehending or evicting violators. Qualifications include New York State license/certification, high school diploma or equivalent experience, preferred security/law enforcement experience, good knowledge of security operations and safety practices, ability to perform duties professionally and make good judgment decisions, excellent communication skills, strong sense of teamwork, availability for 80% of events (nights and weekends), ability to stand for long periods, and physical ability to walk, climb stairs, lift and carry 50 lbs+, and occasional sitting.
