Optum is seeking an experienced Epic Orders Analyst to join our Information Technology team. In this role, you will support and optimize our Epic Orders and Order Transmittal modules. The analyst will serve as a bridge between our IT department and clinical teams, thereby ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant build and workflows. You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week. Primary Responsibilities Build, configure, and maintain Epic Orders and Order Transmittal to support clinical workflows Collaborate with clinicians and IT to gather requirements and optimize system functionality Support integration with other Epic applications Troubleshoot issues, perform system maintenance, and provide end‑user support Participate in system implementations, upgrades, testing, and validation activities Develop documentation, workflows, and training materials for clinical and IT staff Ensure compliance with regulatory standards Partner with project managers to deliver Epic‑related initiatives on time and within scope Why Join Us At Optum, we are committed to advancing patient care through innovation, teamwork, and technology. Required Qualifications Epic Inpatient Orders certification or proficiency Epic Order Transmittal certification or proficiency 2+ years of experience supporting Epic or other EHR systems in a healthcare environment Complex order set build and support experience Solid understanding of clinical workflows Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills Preferred Qualifications Additional Epic certifications (e.g., Ambulatory, Inpatient ClinDoc, ASAP, etc.) Prior involvement in Epic implementations, upgrades, or optimization projects *All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401(k) contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $71,200 to $127,200 annually based on full‑time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
