Job Summary

The Graduate/AUG (Accelerated Undergraduate) Contact Center serves as the hub for admissions and plays a pivotal role in converting inquiries into enrolled students. The team works in a student-focused, high-energy, and collaborative environment. The Enrollment Support Specialist will be integral in guiding prospective students through the front-end admissions funnel by offering excellent customer service, answering inquiries, setting appointments, and facilitating smooth transitions to the appropriate counselor or department.

Location: This is a hybrid position that will allow an individual to regularly work both from home and the Mission Valley campus. Salary: Pay Range: $22.64 - $24.45 per hour Internal Classification: Career Track - Support; Job Level - 3

Job Description

This role is designed for an individual who is energetic, self-motivated, organized, and enjoys working in a fast-paced goal-driven environment. The Graduate/AUG Enrollment Support Specialist will play a critical role in the admissions process by responding to inquiries, engaging with prospective students, facilitating warm transfers to the appropriate counselors, and assisting with informational events.

Work Performed

• Proactively call, email, text, and engage with prospective students to qualify leads, build rapport, and answer basic questions about programs, aligning with the GPS Contact Strategy to effectively move them to the next stage in the admissions funnel.
• Utilize lead qualification criteria to assess prospect readiness and prioritize high-quality leads for further engagement.
• Monitor and respond promptly to incoming inquiries via phone, email, text, and university chat, providing accurate program information or directing students to the appropriate office.
• Assist with warm transfers to counselors, ensuring smooth handoffs that facilitate ongoing engagement.
• Assist in coordinating and participating in Informational Events, helping to ensure high student engagement and participation.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Understanding of and commitment to the spiritual mission of Point Loma Nazarene University.
• Must be highly motivated with a high level of enthusiasm for customer service/positive student experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to work some evenings.
• Ability to exercise interpersonal skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with prospective students, external contacts, faculty and staff.
• Must possess strong detail and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and accomplish tasks under deadline stresses.
• Enthusiastic with a healthy, fun competitive spirit that contributes to the success of the team.
• Evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement. In addition, staff agree to live in agreement with PLNU's Community Life Covenant.

Physical Requirements

• Sitting for periods greater than one hour. Use of computer equipment: computer keyboard, mouse, and monitor.
• Vision to read documents, e-mail and other correspondence, and reports on paper and computer monitor.
• Ability to communicate effectively with others in person, on Zoom and by phone.
• Will also stand, stoop, push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs throughout the day.
• Able to drive from one location to another.
