Lonestar Electric Supply is seeking a highly motivated and skilled DOT Delivery Driver to join our rapidly growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of our products to customers while complying with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. You will also play a key role in maintaining a clean and organized warehouse. The ideal candidate will prioritize safety, have a strong desire to provide superior customer service, and be committed to exceeding customer goals and expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate and maintain DOT-regulated delivery vehicles, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with DOT regulations, ensuring the vehicle is in proper working condition.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date DOT logs, including Hours of Service (HOS) records, using Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) or manual logs as required.
  • Assist in loading and unloading of products from delivery vehicles, ensuring compliance with weight restrictions and load securement regulations.
  • Ensure all products are properly secured and protected during transportation.
  • Perform routine maintenance on delivery vehicles, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and general cleanliness, while ensuring compliance with DOT maintenance requirements.
  • Assist in the organization and maintenance of the warehouse, including receiving, stocking, and shelving of products.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including DOT regulations and traffic laws.
  • Provide excellent customer service, including timely and professional communication with customers.
  • Report any accidents, incidents, or traffic violations immediately to management, following DOT guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) with appropriate endorsements (e.g., Class A, Class B) as required.
  • Clean driving record with no major violations in the past 3 years.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial driving and delivery, with a strong knowledge of DOT regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Familiarity with GPS navigation systems.
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical exam and pre-employment drug test.

Physical Requirements

  • Occasionally works around moving mechanical parts and in warehouse conditions that are not always climate controlled and may include heat and humidity.
  • Noise level may be loud at times.
  • Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. consistently and frequently.
  • Must be able to remain seated and operate a vehicle for extended periods of time.
