Summary:

The Sr. Director of Supply Chain is responsible for developing and leading the company's global supply chain strategy, encompassing procurement, logistics, planning, and inventory management to support business growth, operational excellence, and compliance within a regulated medical device environment. This role is instrumental in driving cross-functional alignment, supplier performance, cost optimization, and end-to-end process scalability as the organization expands. The ideal candidate brings deep supply chain expertise in the medical device industry, demonstrated success in executive-level leadership, and a track record of building world-class supply chain functions. This is an in-office position based in Pleasanton, CA.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive global supply chain strategy aligned with company goals, supporting scalability, innovation, and operational efficiency.
  • Drive inventory strategy and planning processes to balance working capital and service levels across all product lines and manufacturing stages.
  • Lead global sourcing strategy and supplier management efforts in collaboration with R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality to ensure high-performing, compliant, and cost-effective partnerships.
  • Build and evolve supply chain processes and infrastructure to support growth, new product introductions, and global expansion, focusing on scalability and risk mitigation.
  • Identify and lead strategic cost reduction initiatives, including supplier consolidation, contract negotiations, make/buy analysis, and low-cost country sourcing.
  • Define and manage KPIs and reporting frameworks to monitor supply chain effectiveness, supplier performance, and risk indicators.
  • Own the strategic roadmap for ERP (NetSuite) and related systems to enhance data visibility, forecasting, and decision-making across the supply chain.
  • Ensure all supply chain activities comply with FDA, ISO, and QMS standards and support audit readiness and regulatory inspections.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership, providing strategic input across R&D, Quality, Finance, and Commercial functions.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing supply chain team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Who You Will Report To:

  • Senior Vice President, Operations

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive supply chain experience, including 7+ years in senior leadership roles within the medical device or regulated life sciences industry.
  • Experience implementing and optimizing ERP systems; NetSuite experience highly preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and supply chain analytics tools.
  • Strategic thinker with strong executional discipline, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with experience managing complex supplier and stakeholder relationships.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain global supplier networks, including performance management and risk mitigation.
  • Leadership experience with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams, committed to mentoring and development.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and develop staff in a growth environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, data-driven approach to challenges.
  • Deep knowledge of FDA and ISO regulatory requirements for medical device supply chains.
  • Certifications such as APICS or Six Sigma are a plus.

  • Travel: 10%
  • Full-time employment.
