Drywall & Interior Finishes Carpenter Division : Disaster Services Division Location : Fort Myers, Florida Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Pay Range : $20-$22 / Hr. Company Overview Timberline Construction Group's Disaster Services Division supports communities recovering from hurricanes and other natural disasters through new construction and reconstruction of residential homes. Our work focuses on building safe, high-quality, and resilient housing for families rebuilding their lives. Position Summary The Drywall & Interior Finishes Carpenter is responsible for completing interior finishes on new construction and reconstruction projects, including drywall installation/repair, flooring, trim carpentry, and light carpentry. This role will support disaster-recovery housing projects in and around Fort Myers, FL, delivering high-quality workmanship while maintaining a strong focus on safety, schedule, and customer service. Key Responsibilities Install, finish, and repair drywall (hanging, taping, mudding, sanding, and patching). Install a variety of flooring systems (e.g., LVP, laminate, tile, carpet, and other residential flooring types as assigned). Perform trim carpentry tasks, including installing baseboards, door and window casing, crown molding, and other interior trim. Install interior doors, hardware, shelving, and accessories. Perform light carpentry, including minor framing repairs, blocking, backing, and structural prep for finishes. Assist with installation and adjustment of cabinetry and built-ins as directed. Read and interpret basic plans, scopes of work, and punch lists to complete assigned tasks. Complete interior punch-out and warranty items in a timely and professional manner. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area on active construction and reconstruction sites. Follow all Timberline safety policies and OSHA requirements, including proper use of PPE and tools. Communicate professionally with supervisors, teammates, inspectors, homeowners, and program representatives in a disaster-recovery environment. Accurately track time, materials, and progress as required by the Project Manager or Superintendent. Support multiple projects as needed within the Fort Myers area and surrounding communities. Qualifications Required: 3+ years of residential construction experience with a focus on interior finishes (drywall, flooring, trim, and light carpentry). Strong skill level in drywall hanging and finishing, including patchwork and repairs. Proven experience installing flooring and interior trim to a professional standard. Ability to safely operate hand tools and power tools (saws, drills, sanders, etc.). Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to pass any required background checks or program-specific screenings. Preferred: Experience working on disaster recovery, rehab, or reconstruction projects. Experience in occupied and unoccupied residential homes. Familiarity with HUD-funded or state-funded housing programs (a plus, not required). Skills & Competencies Strong attention to detail and quality. Ability to work independently and as part of a field crew. Good communication and problem-solving skills. Professional, respectful demeanor with homeowners who may be recovering from disaster events. Reliable, punctual, and able to meet project deadlines. Physical & Work Environment Requirements Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work on ladders or scaffolding for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment up to 50 lbs regularly. Work performed on active construction sites and in existing homes, both indoors and outdoors, in varying weather conditions. Schedule & Travel Typical schedule: Monday-Friday, with occasional weekends or extended hours based on project needs and disaster program timelines.
