Required Skills & Experience
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities
Considerable experience as a construction supervisor with experience planning, estimating, codes, labor laws, and specifications and blueprint interpretations. Some experience covering major construction processes, procedures, practices and problems.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
State Recognized license in commercial building inspection or Trade Master License or ICC Building inspection certification.
Considerable experience as a certified (city, state or federal) building inspector and/or Project Management Professional (PMP), to include onsite inspections of healthcare facilities such as hospitals, clinics and lab spaces to evaluate the facility’s compliance with rules, standards and best practices for patient care, security and infection control.
Basic experience working in scheduling software such as Primavera, Suretrack or MS Project.
10 Hour OSHA Training Course.
Some experience interacting with code officials in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Working proficiency in a range of Microsoft Office products including PowerPoint.

One of Insight Global's clients is hiring for a Building/Construction Inspector. The department’s key objective is to ensure construction projects are completed safely, with quality, on time and on budget which directly supports the University’s strategic goals of creating a viable, lively campus community and finding the means to accomplish all of its strategic goals. State the chief objective of the position in two to three sentences The incumbent in this position plays a critical role in ensuring that construction work is done safely and in accordance with code, while maintaining the project schedule’s critical path. Perform construction inspections for projects assigned in compliance with the Commonwealth of Virginia, Construction and Professional Services Manual, General Conditions, Section 16, titles, “Inspection”. Perform construction document reviews and associative construction project reports, record keeping and code related inspections and authorizations as required. Perform all duties in a manner that will promote the progress of the work
