How You Will Contribute

 

The Branded Content Designer works on a team with fellow designers, editors, in-house clients, and a production manager under the direction of the Museum’s Design Director to create, present, and produce digital creative solutions that meet the Museum’s communications goals to enhance the visitor experience (and revenue) while maintaining brand identity standards. The Branded Content Designer manages many projects simultaneously from concept through completion, including the digital designs on all PMA branded channels, and internal digital or external facing animated graphic identity materials. This position receives close direction from the Senior Graphic Designer and Design Director.

 

Specifically, you will:

Manage many projects simultaneously from concept through completion, including but not limited to the following:

 

  • Creating digital communications and animations for applications such as the Museum’s website, e-mails, web ads, digital touchpoints, and social media
  • Acting as Animation lead for all marketing campaigns and social media paid campaigns.
  • Generating digital touch points and social media graphics
  • Developing the museum’s video guidelines and all templates / graphics associated with video production.
  • Researching new digital production techniques and oversee outside vendors for delivery of any animated or motion driven PMA branded assets.

 

Your background and experience include:

  • BA/BS in Graphics Arts or related discipline
  • Minimum two years of graphic design work in a collaborative environment with an emphasis on animation, motion graphics and digital asset production
  • Proficient in digital design and animation a plus
  • Knowledge in web UI, motion graphics, and basic video editing/using footage.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and e-mail design a must
  • Software mastery: Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects and Acrobat)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) using a Mac.
  • Advanced skills in Adobe AE and Canva
  • Excellent communication skills including writing and ability to articulate design decisions in presentations.
  • Previous experience working with system books and brand identity guidelines a must.
  • Digital guidelines experience a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact well with others.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to shift as priorities change.
  • High level of energy, confidence, and a sense of humor
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess artistic clarity, creativity, innovation, and perception.
  • Must have a portfolio of recent work to demonstrate required skills and abilities.

 

Position and Compensation Details

  • The SALARY for this position is $45,000.
  • This position is FULL-TIME, EXEMPT and 35 hours per week.
  • This position is part of the AFSCME Local 397 bargaining unit.
  • This position reports to the Director of Design
  • Physical requirements:
    • Able to remain stationary for extended periods of time, to utilize computers and other office equipment required of this job, to perform physically administrative duties in a typical interior office environment, gallery, or exhibit space, and to access most public and staff areas of the museum campus.
  • COVID-19 vaccination required.
  • Background check required after a conditional job offer is made. Consideration of the background check will be tailored to the requirements of the job.
