Line of Business Personal & Commercial Banking Job Description The Banking Associate delivers TD’s brand promise at a branch location. Responsibilities include accurately completing everyday banking transactions and advising customers on services, products and tools that help them achieve their financial goals. Depth & Scope Performs a wide range of tasks across multiple areas within a store, such as processing customer transactions, opening new accounts and educating customers on all banking products and services. Delivers end‑to‑end advice, building trust with educational content, providing consultative support, and advocating proactive insights and recommendations. Uses TD’s systems and tools to engage with customers, acquire and deepen relationships, and ultimately attract and retain customers. Identifies opportunities to promote and educate on products, services or referrals to appropriate team members or internal bank partners, ensuring a positive customer experience. Accurately completes everyday banking transactions on the teller line or on the platform, uncovering customer financial needs and providing guidance or referrals. Services customers on both the teller line and platform, including opening/closing personal deposit accounts, everyday bank transactions, debit/credit card issues, Regulation E, mobile and online banking. Manages lead activities such as self‑generated leads, partner referrals, campaign leads, customer outreach (outbound calls, SMS) setting appointments, and lead prioritization. Education & Experience High school diploma or GED. 1 year of customer‑facing experience (volunteer, education, military, or any customer service role). Demonstrated customer‑service skills preferred. Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as scheduled. Teller experience preferred. Required to complete teller training and part 1 of platform training upon hire. Strong organizational skills, excellent communication, problem‑solving, scheduling, and the ability to work independently within deadlines. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Notary License preferred. Customer Accountabilities Consistently provides legendary customer service while transacting, promoting, educating and referring TD products. Builds and nurtures customer relationships with product knowledge and active listening. Manages wait times by scheduling or updating client meetings. Engages in lobby leadership, serves as the first point of contact for inquiries, resolves issues and schedules appointments. Supports the bank’s customer service strategy, considers impact of decisions on the organization, and drives referrals to colleague partners. Ensures compliance with policies and procedures, completes training, and maintains records for audit and regulatory requests. Acts in accordance with the TD Code of Conduct. Shareholder Accountabilities Maintains compliance with regulatory requirements (Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act) to minimize risk. Accurately processes cash/deposit/withdrawal transactions. Handles everyday account transactions such as opening/closing, servicing, cashing checks, debit card reordering, and address updates. Applies customer authentication, compliance regulations, and due diligence to account openings and transactions. Manages cash drawers, secures balances, follows policy and procedure for authentication, and acts as a dual‑control agent when required.
