Your Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day studio work assignments, staff utilization, project performance, work quality, and scheduling.
  • Track and ensure compliance with internal project budgets.
  • Continually evaluate workload and projects and schedules. Collaborate with team members and consultants to ensure appropriate staffing is supplied at the right level of expertise to successfully complete project deliverables.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to staff through managing day-to-day Architecture studio operations.
  • Initiate & maintain contact with Principals and Project Managers for resolution of critical issues.
  • Assist with the development of detailed project schedules in collaboration with Principals and Project Managers. Communicate/assign/track key deliverable dates to the Architecture team.
  • Responsible for maintaining uniformly high production standards for all design and contract documents.
  • Must be thoroughly familiar with entire architectural delivery process and should possess managerial capability to lead and direct activities of project-team personnel while monitoring technical production on multiple projects.
  • Lead periodic departmental meetings.
  • Directs and monitors project team members and ensures high productivity.
  • Partner with Principals for performance management of staff, recruiting, and onboarding new hires.
  • Support company-wide initiatives, new processes, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Assist business development efforts of others with proposals via collaborating on the development of design fees and establish a consultant team in conjunction with Principals.
  • Provide status, reports, staffing needs, and other information to discipline leadership.
  • Assisting with financial and schedule related activities such as invoicing, contracts and forecasting platforms.
  • Be a liaison for the needs of the studio in leadership meetings.
  • Build positive client relationships via successful project delivery.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Prior experience as a multi-disciplinary team leader, studio leader or principal in the Architecture industry.
  • Experience in the documentation and delivery of projects in corporate office, healthcare, mixed-use, multifamily, civic and/or municipal project types.
  • Experienced in architectural design, detailing and documentation of new building, restoration, and renovation projects.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Must be a “people person” with team-centric temperament.
  • Strong time management and multi-tasking capabilities.
  • Strong written, verbal, and graphic communication skills.
  • Foster mutual trust and confidence by developing strong relationships with the ability to lead an internal team and external consultants toward the common goal.
  • Advanced knowledge of design principles, techniques, tools, production of technical plans, drawings, models, and the ability to interpret design concepts for implementation.
  • Advanced critical thinking skills particularly regarding the production of Architectural documents.
  • Working knowledge of the tools and workflows used in current Architectural practice including, but not limited to, MS Office, Revit, AutoCAD, etc. in particular the workflows of each.
  • Preferred Professional Architecture license in the State of Ohio.

  • Full-time position with an equitable salary and paid time off commensurate with experience.

  • Flexible schedule. OHM Advisors provides a hybrid work environment and provides flexibility to staff. Note, however, this position does require the majority of an individual’s time to be spent in our downtown Columbus, OH office.
