AEC Living Supports Girls Inc of the Island City

Last night we were honored to be recognized as a STRONG Partner of Girls Inc of the Island City. AEC Living supports our local community. Giving back and community participation are two of our core values, and giving back to our local youth is both an honor and a pleasure. The children of Alameda do so much for us: kindergartners entertain us with their songs, elementary and middle school students visit us to show off their musical style and reading skills, and local high school students work with residents to learn about the history of popular art and entertainment, it is our pleasure to support those organizations that work to support them.

AEC Living Celebrates Mothers Day!

AEC Living began Alameda’s celebration of Mothers Day a week ago with Tea Parties at both Elders Inn and The Lodge. BINGO! for the Arts

A good time was had by all as we boogied to the banks and eagerly awaited the call of the next BINGO number, all in the name of “inspiring the community to engage in the arts and strengthen the value of creativity and discovery in everyday life.”

Lights…Camera…Action!

This means we are taking all new pictures (and even filming a couple of short videos!). The shooting is mostly done now, but if you stopped by for a visit this week you may have been able to witness first hand the fun that is working with a professional photography team.

An Attitude of Gratitude

The holidays can bring out a lot of positive feelings and emotions in people, and they’re induced by much more than just turkey! In a recent article in LiveScience, Tia Ghose examines the wealth of scientific literature linking gratitude with improved health and wellbeing. Some of the benefits of expressing gratitude include:

Giving Together

Yesterday, AEC Living, Residents of the Lodge, and the Rotary Club of Alameda combined forces to start the season of sharing. As our way of giving back to the local community, and sharing some of the benefits we’ve been lucky enough to reap, we gathered for lunch at the Lodge and spent the afternoon
